There are some people that drop out to support their ill family.
Some don't go to college because they simply can't afford it.

Raising minimum wage isn't a bad thing.
People are paid minimum wage in a lot of other establishments than just fast food as well.

I agree with everything except that anyone CAN pay for college. My dad grew up from a poor family and received no financial aid, but he worked multiple jobs and got through school. He is now a Marketing Manager at a major venture capitalist firm, making more than most people ever will. Anyone can turn their life around.

Your father lived in a different time, the value of money increases/decreases and economy does change over time you know.

I understand, but people even now can pay for themselves in college. As things rise in price pay rises with it.

I saw this and thought it belonged here. (Even tough nobody wanted the minimum wage raised to $15/hour.)

i know people who have been (and finished) college who are working on minimum wage jobs.
Also i dont know why you are mad about that and not about the people who dont really care about working, dropped out of high school and just live on benefits, basically getting paid to do nothing and spend all the money on alcohol/drugs.. (i know someone who has done exactly that, hes an embarrassment..)
And guy above me, thats going to be everywhere in the future whitin the next couple years lol

I am upset at these people also. You don't have to go to college to get a nice paying job and you don't have to work fast food. Everyone should know that you cannot make a carrer out of Mc Donalds and I personally think that these people should stay at minimum wage and make nothing more. Half the time I got to any fast food place they screw up my order so what is the point in them getting 15$ when they can't understand that I said no pickles! It is simple don't make a carrer out of fast food because it is not meant for that, their wages will never be raised and more than likely they will just end up firing the idiots who go on strike so many people are looking for a job in fast food.

I work at McDonalds, I don't feel like I deserve more than what I make. But don't hate on people wanting more, a few of my coworkers aren't going to be able to buy presents for their child/children on Christmas. I'm more for people wanting to raise the minimum wage then those on well-fare that are capable of working. You seem to maybe think lowly of people at fast food joints, either that or just dislike of them asking for a higher pay.
I've met some of the nicest people where I work and appreciate my crew more than most of the people that I've ever met.
Understand the things people undergo, and why they might ask for a higher pay. Me personally, I don't need it, I'm just a 16 y/o looking for a little extra bank.
Never judge a book by it's cover, you don't know the lives of some people.

Amen my man.
For some people they have made bad choices to get here, for others they just have to get a job to support their family.
