Hey guys, as you may know Injustice posts his work here, and i would like to start modelling. I'd like to thank him for helping me and giving me advice and where to start.
I've been working on this for a couple of hours, basically messing with the tools etc to create this. This is my first ever piece so please don't hate. This was just a practise to get use to basic extrusion, matrix extrusion and lots more. Sorry if i've got the size wrong, I'm' just a beginner and need help. Could anyone tell me the size for C4D models? Thanks.
I'm also going to work on the grass, i need to add more roots so it is covered. Any tips and advice will be appreciated. This is very basic work, so i'd love advice on how I can improve.

Actually trying to model....dont apologise for the quality...youre trying.
Materials -
If you are custom making a material make sure to then place it correctly on the model.
The ball one is just off as you can see by hexagons.
Bottom left "grass" has no texture to it so colour goes flat.
The sky is something that can be left for later. But here it gives just enough light to get the over idea.
May I suggest checking out GreyScaleGorilla.
His tutorials really helped me when I started with 3D modelling.
Look forward to seeing your next piece.
And to the people suprised at me giving feedback instead of saying it sucks....
This is actually trying to improve himself.....he deserves it

Nice to see you trying something out of your comfort zone. Obviously needs work, but, I can't criticize, know nothing about c4d modelling. So my suggestions will probably just sound stupuid. hah.
I suppose Moz knows what he is talking about so just follow that, keep at it though mate.

I think I am going to practise grass and textures in my next piece. It really shows in the grass what i need to do. I really want feedback like this as next time i can make it better.

Looks great...
I'm afraid I can't offer feedback as I know nothing about modelling.
But good for you learning new stuff.
Great start.

Is this your first piece? If so it is a damn good piece.
Love the detail of the grass and the light effects on the ball. Only down for me is that the grass ends like halfway through the piece, doesn't look right, i'd keep the grass coming throughout the piece to make it look even.
Also make the ball shadow abit smaller so it looks more realistic.

This is awesome caparison to my first attempt
I don't like using C4D anymore I prefer 2D work.
But this is very, very good for your first attempt!
Keep it up!

Thanks for the advice. And yes, this is my first piece, took a long time getting used to to the tools and such. I just add the grass so there is something to it,so i will change it when i get more used to the settings. Thanks for the advice, i will improve on that in my next piece.

Bud. This is great for first piece.
I'm absolutely loving the fact you took what i said to hear on how to learn. Because this is honestly alot better than my first piece ever. I love the you actually added a sky, and attempted to try and keep decent lighting.
It looks overexposed though i don't know what happened to the quality. Possible Photoshop? I'm assuming you used the hair effector for the grass, Which is good, but What i'd do, Maybe its too early but take a plane and model into a shape of Blade of grass because realistically grass has some shape to it.
Go to the Hair effector Menu and set it to instance then drop the shape you just made into the instance. Makes for some beautifully clean looking foliage.
i like the dusk look. Although i think i need to give you a small class on texturing and lighting. Your by far my favorite student yet. You listen.
Also one other thing, Try playing with gradients when you texture a radial gradient on the dirt would have made it alot cleaner and a vertical one on the grass would have just made it pop.
I think the plane for the field could have been a bit bigger But its all a learning experience.
This is great bud, People who don't use c4d can't really tell How much Little stuff you actually thought out and took into effect. and it's awesome it just needs some fine tuning.
With roots theres an effector for it, But it can cause some pretty funky shit to happen so i reccomend learning a little bit about it first.
