Are you positive that the gpu is securely put in the pci slot, and that the clip on the slot is in the closed position? Also, did you securely plug in the power connector to the card?

Make sure the graphics card is in all the way. Check your bios for your Initial display and make sure its on PCIe slot 1. Also, once you get everything set up you will want to make sure you have all of your drivers set up.

Yes you'll need to make sure you Power Supply inside your computer has a PCI-E power cable and they are usually 6 or 8 pin.
Edit: I don't think your Card will actually need that as it runs off the motherboard power from the PCI Express slot.

IMMERSIVE wroteThe motherboard does not provide power necessarily. It just communicates information from the pieces of hardware. The Graphics card will still need power.An-obese-bull wrote Can anyone explain to me how this works?

Some graphics cards can be powered straight from the motherboard, and I'm not sure if it does have a 6 or 8 pin connector on it. Which is why I added in that edit. And there's no reason to down vote my comment.

Read the last paragraph, [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
It says: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] so you don't need any additional power connector.
