Gun control is definitely not the issue in this circumstance. Eliminating guns will not solve the fact of mass murders in schools. People still obtain guns illegally as it is so eliminating them from legitimate dealers would not really make much of a difference other than the fact that citizens that are concerned with protecting themselves would not be able to protect themselves. I think personally, that we should be employing retired police and retired veterans. This is an issue that shouldnt be discussed at a state level it should be discussed at the federal level because if we can make airport so secure we should be able to make them as secure as a school should be.
So what it seems like is that only 12 of the bodies have been identified by their families and more footage is being released from students who had videotaped it at the time.
Apparently there were pictures and posts on his social media that should have indicated a threat to the school but nobody had actually reported it. And law-enforcement has said they would rather have 99 false reports then have one trip report.

This can go because of the many different factors. He may be getting bullied in school and he wanted take his anger out on everybody who did it but it doesn't seem to be a targeted attack. He could actually be mentally ill or he wanted to take his anger out on people from different sources it really doesn't have a definitive answer as to why he did it unless he said why he did it. We can't always assume just like the US has a innocent until proven guilty court system. If you assume and get it wrong then you're at fault.

He was an ex student it says, I can only assume he was picked on or something happened to him to cause such anger with no remorse to kill others. Especially if you're already mentally ill
I just can't believe the amount of times this had happened now, it's almost like people are seeing others doing it then following them. I'm not from America so I can't really comment, but is it seriously that easy to get a gun and walk up to a school with it? I just don't get how it can be so easy

What do you mean nothing will change? If I may ask.. What could change?
Americans will never and I will never support the Prohibition of guns. Yeah it may work for a few months but it still will not stop people from killing people or stop killing people in schools. Just because you're taking away one method of it doesn't mean there is an another. If you take away guns they may look into building bombs, and if they build bombs that's even more big of a threat than a gun would ever be. It's honestly easier to sneak a bomb in to the school then it is to sneak up a handgun into the school.

Like what?
Assuming he has not committed any serious crimes, he probably passed a background check.
The problem is not the guns, it is his mental health.
You can be the perfect person on paper, never committed any crimes, got good grades, etc, and no one would ever know what you are thinking. If someone wants to hide their intentions enough, then they can keep secrets from everyone. This guy needed mental health care. Had that happened, this mass shooting might have not happened.
Adding to this, he had no prior encounter with the police or any federal agencies. It's said he posted some seriously disturbing comments on Youtube, Reddit and other social media sites, saying he wanted to "shoot people with his gun" and comments like, "all those sheep will fall". He definitely had a mental health issue, that isn't something that a healthy person would say. Which brings me to this: Where were his parents? What did they do to help their child emotionally and mentally after he was expelled from school? That's obviously a thing that brings many problems to a person's mind.
Also, the kids at the school literally made jokes all the time about how that specific kid, Nikolas Cruz, would be the person who shoots up that school. It's so many factors that made this kid do this shit.

All the UK people who don't understand why we don't have stricter gun control are funny. Your dead children don't take precedence over my rights.

There is so many opinions about gun control and what we can do to stop something like this from happening.. and truthfully, there really isnt anything that we could, maybe take away a couple weapons. But what would that do. Nothing. There will always be guns in the US. The school needs to put more security measures like my school. We have one entrance into the school during school hours. The front desk. All the other doors set off alarms when someone enters through those. We also have police officers at the front desk at all times. I am saying if this was a measure they had at this school the injured/death list would be much lower if not none. This is my opinion. I do not wish to offend anyone.

I saw a snap story of this kid recording gun shots and it was scary af. It's sad this shit keeps happening but gun control will not fix this. There will always be a way to get guns. Legally or illegally.
