According to this one show I watched that had Adam Savage hosting, he said that it could eventually be possible. You would just need many surgeries and need to manually program your mind with your memories, or you could end up losing all of them over long amounts of time. I really don't think living forever is good. I would go insane.

Biologically it's possible, but in practice it wouldn't really work. You can stop the aging process, because we only appear to age as our cells have the Hayflick limit, so they can divide 40-60 times, after that all the telomerase in our cells will have been used up. To stop us aging, we just need to find a way to make the telomerase create itself, similar to what cancer cells do. Once that has been done, which I believe will be quite soon, within the next 50 years, maximum. Then you have basically removed aging.

However, this would only stop us aging, we could still in theory die from disease, and other ways such as being shot, stabbed etc... as it only gives the cells the ability to keep dividing.

As for your quote from the Physicist, he happens to be the great uncle of one of my good friends, although they don't have much of his work, being highly interested in science, it's great to see some of the work of a brilliant scientist in person.
