MPAA wrote This is just a rumour and it fails to mention that you can unplug the kinect and still use the Xbox One?

What is the big deal about this. If you think the NSA would take the time to spy on you, a random citizen with no interest for them, then you are greatly mistaken. However; the only time you should EVER worry about something like this is if you happen to be a wanted criminal who loves playing their Xbox. Plus, if you dont want the damn thing watching you, turn it at a wall. There is no downside to having a Kinect with your Xbox One, and if you think they are going to record your conversations when you're not playing and the console is off, unplug the damn thing. Not that big of a deal. IF you STILL have problems with the Kinect, don't you worry; see this article [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] .

In summary: The Kinect needing to be plugged in is no reason to judge the Xbox One. having it plugged in is not a negative consequence of getting the console. If you don't like having it plugged in all the time, I have a suggestion for you:

Step One - Not using the Kinect:
    1) Don't look at the Kinect
    2) Don't talk to the Kinect
    3) Don't wave your hands/arms/or any part of your body at the Kinect
    4) Turn the Kinect at a wall

Success!

Davi_J_Campbell wrote This is more than likely fake, the shared library requires online checks to make sure your not playing a game you shouldn't be, the console is built around DRM it won't be removed from the console just because of sony.

Why do you guys honestly care about DRM ? I am never offline on my Xbox so it will have no effect on me and makes no difference. But seriously i want to know why you guys don't like DRM

I share your opinion about the online status, however I hope the rumors are correct, otherwise the likes of the armed forces with very limited technology regarding Internet are being alienated, and it's another reason to shut PS fanboys up

Not just the NSA, there's the possibility of hackers (yes it exists don't try to deny it!) hacking into it somehow, having it totally disconnected from the main system is always going to be an epic win against ANY scenario.
