If you don't know what Sleep Paralysis is.
"Sleep paralysis is a phenomenon in which a person, either falling asleep or awakening, temporarily experiences an inability to move, speak or react. It is a transitional state between wakefulness and sleep characterized by complete muscle atonia (muscle weakness). It is often accompanied by terrifying hallucinations (such as an intruder in the room) to which one is unable to react due to paralysis, and physical experiences (such as strong current running through the upper body). One theory is that it results from disrupted REM sleep, which normally induces complete muscle atonia to prevent the sleeper from acting out his or her dreams. Sleep paralysis has been linked to disorders such as narcolepsy, migraines, anxiety disorders, and obstructive sleep apnea; however, it can also occur in isolation." -Wikipedia.
If you don't feel like reading the full on explanation. It's where your body feels like 100x heavier and you can't move what so ever. You can move your toes but that's it. Not to mention you hallucinate really bad things.
So here are the hallucinations i saw occurring in 1 of around 50 times i had sleep paralysis.
So it was like 8:00 Am in the morning and since it was a rainy day there was little light in my bedroom. But there was this one ray of light going to where my closed door is. But to give you a better idea, this was the layout of the room more or less.
So It's near pitch black with a streak of light heading towards the door on the right at a angle. Like this.
So I'm laying on my bed still tired so I'm not noticing I'm in sleep paralysis. But still awake enough to notice my surroundings and see. So when i see a random domestic looking face appear next to the door where the light is ending, You kinda want to get the f out asap. That's when i notice that I'm frozen and that I'm in sleep paralysis.
Now I've dealt with sleep paralysis a bit so I'm quite good a keeping calm by now. But no matter how experienced you are dealing with this crap. I'm pretty sure your unable to stop the loud chopper noise in your head and the fact that it feels like your heart is beating and your blood is pumping at a abnormal rate. And your perspective of time is messed up. As a result true fear if you haven't dealt with this often. (People that dealt with this should understand).
So anyways, I'm like "Ok ok. I've dealt with this crap many times before I'm just going to wiggle my toes so i get of sleep paralysis." Then i close my eyes as I'm wiggling my toes and after 40secs it feels like I'm out of sleep paralysis. I open my eyes and the face is still there, accept it's a bit closer now...With a body attached to it. At this point it's about to touch the front of the bed. This is when i start talking shit in my head about how I'm going to kick his ass big time if he gets by me. Seems as though he heard me since once i blinked this cocksucker was in my face on my bed on top of me. And by now it feels like my heart is going to explode out. Then i see and hear him talking trying to communicate with me and which to me seems like he's a fan of Five night's at Freddy's since he sounds just like what Freddy Fazbear was saying in this clip.
Then fortunately just before i shat myself i was able to get out of sleep paralysis since me wiggling my toes finally worked. And I'm just sitting up on my bed like...What in the world...
So yeah. Enjoy the story! It was a terrific life experience!

This isn't really tech related, but I really hope this thread doesn't get removed.
Keep in mind, I don't believe in supernatural things in the slightest. I suffered from this horribly when I was younger. It seemed like it would happen once or twice a week, and it always happened near the same time. Roughly 4:30am (had a bright clock at the time). I would wake up into this paralyzed state and if I attempted to move I would get either a burning sensation or jolts of electricity up my spine. And I would see shadow figures walking around my room, circling my bed, circling me. I was always too afraid to say anything because I was so young (this occurred from around age 10-13), and these hallucinations were so vivid. I always accredited these traumatic experiences with my insomnia that I have developed.
Freaky stuff man, freaky stuff.

I don't think this will be removed since general discussion is the section to post in if there isn't a section for whatever your posting.
But Yeah. I haven't had it for a while. But oh man does it suck.

That sounds horrifying! This has happened to me twice. Both times I was laying on my stomach with my head in the pillow, I was sitting here not able to move and eventually I couldn't breathe, it was terrifying.

Quite a bit of them i got from that sleeping position. Laying on your stomach with your head titled to one side right? For me it's to the left.

This has happened to me once and it was the most horrifying experience i have ever had. I hallucinated that stewie from family guy was stood at the bottom of my bed, staring at me with this evil look on his face.
Then he walked over to my side and started to chew on my finger. Because i couldnt move or shout for help, all i could do was lay there, helpless. F******G TERRIFYING!
I didnt know what the hell was going on. This was the first and only time this happened to me! Its really scary!

I've done sleep paralysis once and never again. Mine was exactly like yours except the figure was sitting in the corner, when i closed my eyes to try move and opened my eyes again he was in my face and was dragging it's fingers down my face. It felt so real and i couldn't go sleep for days after that.

It's not so much you don't want to get it, because it's not by chance. You can do it yourself, like i did. by listening to certain music, not moving at all and ding something else that i can't remember. I'm not saying it's a good experience to do. but trying it was an experience.
