Xbox Scorpio Website No Longer Mentions VR At All

4.6
When the Xbox One Scorpio was announced last year, Microsoft made it a point to call out the two areas that the new system would be focusing on- delivering true, native 4K gaming, and high fidelity VR gaming, both of which are beyond the reach of all other consoles on the market.

Now, it seems like Microsoft may be trying to shift attention away from the system’s VR capabilities, presuming it has any. As was pointed out on NeoGAF (via GameSpot), the Xbox Scorpio website has removed any and all references to VR. As to why Microsoft is doing that, no one knows. It is entirely possible that their VR solution is not ready to go. On the other hand, maybe the large scale market failure of VR so far might have made them rethink their idea of focusing marketing of the Scorpio around this functionality.

Whatever the case, we have more new questions about the Scorpio every day- Microsoft really need to hurry up and answer some of these, before we all go crazy with the speculation.

I don't think we are anywhere close to having perfect VR, this is good because Microsoft should rush it.

What's the point of this lol

yeah I think VR needs to become more advanced before we introduce it to a consumer market. I saw some VR and it had some problems. Lag, ps2 graphics, and some had cords that people tripped on while gaming.

My guess is the hype around VR isn't as big as it used to be, after the major headsets came out and people realized what they were getting. It's no longer a major selling point, so why make it one the main features.

I've got no use for VR so I could careless.

I doubt it has anything to do with it not being VR ready, the PS4 Pro had it's take on it and the Scorpio is supposed to be significantly more powerful than that. I'd say Microsoft is playing it smart and hopping off the VR hype train to focus more on the Xbox brand as a whole.

To be honest VR doesn't excite me and is just a gimmick to get sales. If they are focusing on other things other than a marketing tool then I am happy with that.
