Ghost Recon Wildlands Launch Attracts More Steam Players Than Beta

4.7
Ghost Recon: Wildlands’ beta was fairly successful for Ubisoft, attracting more than 6.8 million players across all platforms. Now that the game has launched, it’s actually seeing more active daily players on Steam compared to the open beta.

According to Githyp, Wildlands had 32,955 players at the most active during the beta. However, ten hours after the game launched, the total number of active players was 34,087. When you consider that the open beta was free, it’s pretty significant. And remember that this doesn’t take into account the numbers on Uplay, Xbox One or PS4.

It should be noted that Ubisoft titles have had a habit of flailing after launch. It happened to The Division last year with For Honor following a similar pattern of dipping player numbers within a few weeks. With Ghost Recon: Wildlands focusing more on its campaign and co-op, could it possibly revert the trend?

We’ll find out in the coming weeks but we’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

I'm not really upset that I didn't purchase this game

I've been playing Wildlands for about 2 days on spare time. Honestly, i love it. The side missions are mostly the same with different enemies and stuff but the main missions are all totally different and i have about 14 hours in and i am only 3 zones in. Weapon customization is great as well as the realism of bullet effects..
