Call of Duty could lose 20% market share this fall

EA is well aware that it is highly unlikely that Battlefield 3 outperform the Call of Duty juggernaut this fall. Earlier EA COO Peter Moore explained the companies strategy in launching so close to Call of Duty, and its all about market share. The company believes that this strategy to steal market share from the industry leader will put EA in a position to steal back the shooter crown in the coming years.

"It's less about being second place. This is about taking market share. This is really about a long-term strategy in what we think is a very important shooter segment that has driven over the last few years multiple billions of dollars of revenue into the industry,...If you look at last year, you might argue that Call of Duty took maybe 90 percent of the market share. We think we can knock that down to 70 percent this year. We don't have to outsell Call of Duty to have a very successful year. This is a long-term strategy to be a major player, if not ultimately a dominant player in this industry. But it starts this year."

I already know battlefield 3 is amazing because of the alpha (and soon to be beta :D ) but mw3 you won't ever know until release day. (I like both games but i think cod should step down until they get their shit straightened out)

the only problem that BF3 will have is taking the hardcore and mildy hardcore cod fans to BF3, that means making BF3 scary similar to Cod without breaching copyrights, taking the die hard fans and changing the game after they are already hooked, if they use that mind-set i have no doubt that EA will beat Activision, even though I love call of duty

this is wat i say each game is going for something different cod goes for fun and enjoyment and some time competitive and the same for battlefield except battlefield make it more realistic and we both love that am i right but if u a codfanboy then let it be dam who cares wat game is better we will end up buying both when they drop price

coDyDaTallGuy In my opinion, I think BF3 will be built better than MW3 and have more support, but I think that MW3 will get more sales because there are ''SO'' many CoD fanboys that won't give anything else a chance, or they do and suck at it and blame the game for being terrible when it's not !!!! I don't ever recall there being any terrible Battlefield game, the only way you would have thought it to be bad is if you played it on the consoles and not a PC because when Battlefield games first came to console they felt weird to play.... But that's enough of that, I personally will be getting both games because know both will be great :)


those fanboys are my friends... i showed them a yt video of bfbc2 and bf3. there not getting mw3 lol. cod is so popular cause of all the little tw*ts under 9 imho
