Battlefield 3 took market share from Call of duty - EA

Despite Activision’s latest Call of Duty setting entertainment launch records for the third consecutive year, rival EA was successful in capturing a slice of the franchise’s pie this year with Battlefield 3, COO Peter Moore is confident.

“I think when the dust fully settles, maybe when we’re looking at the end of our fiscal year, we’ll do an analysis and I think we will have taken [market] share,” Moore tells MCV. “I don’t think there’s any doubt about that, unless everything BF3 sells is just incremental.”

The rivalry of the shooter giants, which mainly manifested in verbal back and forths initiated and kept alive by EA, also benefited “gamers and the industry,” Moore adds.

“Together we’ve grown the genre enormously. 10m sold in and 5m sold through doesn’t come out of nowhere – if we haven’t gained share, that means in the first week we’ve added 5 million new FPS gamers.” That, or a lot of people simply bought both shooters.

BF3 can't get more online players then the COD game that came out last year, how exactly is call of duty losing the war?

Honestly i could care less who is the highest in online activity.
Call of duty has 20,000ish boosters and as far as i can tell more people are playing battlefield everyday.... Maps are bigger better more detailed weapons have real stats no boosting i can continue to knock call of duty down all night but i have a date with an a-10 thunderbolt on battlefield 3.

I could tell you youre wrong, but i dont care. I have a date to the homecoming. And its a person, not a videogame. bye :)

Ruzed Call of Duty dominates and has dominated the consoles for quite some time now. EA cannot and will not simply knock them off of their pedestal in one year, and definitely not with just one game, to be honest, I cannot even see them ever being as big as Call of Duty.

Before the BF Fanboys start calling me a fanboy. I have both games, CoD is better, get mad.

Ya you say ur not including Pc but thats where Battlefield started and still dominates ...not counting Battlefield Pc players is like comparing Cod pc players to Battlefield Console players

I agree with what you said on the differences between CoD and Battlefield. But Activision even said, Call of Duty is just the standards of a First Person Shooter, they don't want to advance like Battlefield did. EA was just dumb and jealous of Call of Duty, thus making more Battlefield games.

Rozy COD will always rule warfare gaming.

COD doesnt rule it they rule it on consoles but on PC BF,Arma,and many other games dominate it your a fanboy that doesnt bother to play other games COD looks like a lil girl sucking on a lolipop at age 5 compared to the games I just named try another game for once bro.


He was just probably referring to the consoles. You don't even know if he plays things other that COD.
