Analyst – GTA V will outsell the next Call of Duty

EEDAR’s Jesse Divnich has tipped Rockstar to end Call of Duty’s three year streak at the top of the annual charts.“It goes without saying that GTA V will be one of the year’s biggest releases, but I will take it one step farther and say GTA V will be 2012′s biggest release, the analyst told IndustryGamers.

Dont get me wrong, Call of Duty will undoubtedly be huge, as it is every year and it may even grow, but if I had to call what will be a photo finish race, I will go with GTA V.”

Grand Theft Auto IV has shifted over 22 million copies worldwide in the three years since its launch. That said, each of the three most recent Call of Duty releases – 2009′s Modern Warfare 2, 2010′s Black Ops, and 2011′s Modern Warfare 3 – have set entertainment launch records, outselling not just games but films, books and music.

Grand Theft Auto V was formally announced in November, although beyond the first trailer, Rockstar won’t tell us anything.

Here we go with another fan war. Of **** course COD will win because it is popular with the children. The people who realised it has been around for waaay too long will probably not buy it because its too easy to kill somebody now.

Have you even played gta apart from 4?

I remember when Gta 4 came out it had the one of the best graphics and i really think it portrays city life quite good.
Thats the problem they all think gta 4 came out in 2012 theres nearly a 4 year gap look at san andreas then gta 4 and then a modern day game 4 yeas between each see the differnce

Although GTA deserves to sell way more. Call of Duty is still just as big if not bigger and even the hype wont be able to outsell COD, sucks though seeming as i hate COD.

I'm a huge fan of Call of Duty, it is my favorite game at the moment but I definitely agree that GTA V will absolutely smash CoD this year, I just can't wait, I'm waiting for this since 2008 :D
