Halo 4′s "Perk" System Clarified, "Classic Halo is Still There"

With Halo 4′s multiplayer having only been revealed just a couple days ago, controversy has already managed to find its place among the Halo community. Yesterday, it was revealed that Halo 4 would include some sort of “perk” system which many fans instinctively compare directly to the Call of Duty franchise. Understandably, it would be disappointing for die-hard fans of the Halo universe to see their franchise adopt gameplay similar to that of another, losing its unique identity. However, Franchise Director, Frank O’Connor, urges fans to avoid jumping to conclusions.

O’Connor recently clarified on the NeoGaf forums that “there aren’t ‘perks’ in the game as being described here. And classic Halo is still there. But there are things we will be rolling out soon to put all of this discussion in a much better perspective and I suspect calm frayed nerves.” He later added, “…we didn’t mention them. That’s why I put it in quotes. That term was coined by someone else to interpret stuff they saw in the UI [User Interface]. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things and to be expected during announce fervor. And yes, it’s partly our fault since we re rolling out more information about this stuff at a later time.”

i will continue to love halo, even though the Original makers aren't doing halo 4. I loved playing halo combat evolved in My Computer class at school.

CyanogenMod7 All of you supposed "die hard fans" of Halo complaining about how they should keep the game the way it is, are being dumb. There always has to be some changes and new ideas in the game to make it feel more fresh and fun. If you think adding perks would kill it because it would be a little more like CoD, then you are stupid. If you were a die hard fan , I'm pretty sure you would never have played CoD. So just gtfo, or stop ****. Seriously.
Ok, if you were a die hard fan of say...CoD. And you play all 8 or however many there are and then you play the next one and it has jetpacks and energy shields would you complain about it? Halo fans are pissed because why would their be new changes on the 4th installment of halo? H1,H2,H3 were all the same. So when Reach came around they made some big changes such as taking out a gun that was in every halo series and made it so there is abilities? It was a big change that no one expected because it didnt go with halo.

r we still going to be able to unlock armor just by unlocking achievments like halo 3? or is it going to be like halo reach and make you level up to get new armor cuz if it does that then i might not buy halo 4 cuz i dont spend 24/7 on halo leveling up, i mostly play custom games.

Why didnt they just make new maps, make a new campaign, and keep the game just like Halo 3? It would be so much better...and easier for them.
