It’s been a long time coming, but the Sons of the Forest release date is finally approaching once more. The anticipated survival horror game was slated for release in May 2022, but developer Endnight Games deemed this date “overly ambitious”, pushing its release to late 2022. Thankfully, there’s been no further word that another delay is on the cards – though, of course, we make no promises.

Beyond announcements concerning the Sons of the Forest release date, Endnight Games is keeping details about the game remarkably close to its chest. Aside from a handful of creepy teaser trailers, we’ve been kept in the dark about what players can expect. The Sons of the Forest Steam page is similarly brief, but promises crafting, co-op, and yes – cannibals.



Sons of the Forest release date
Sons of the Forest is due to release in October 2022, after being delayed from May. This could conceivably slip again but fans will have to wait and see for now.

The Forest enjoyed a resurgence in players ahead of its initial release date in May. Unsurprisingly, its concurrent player count is once again beginning to climb, making it one of the best survival games available to play on Steam.



What is Sons of the Forest?
Sons of the Forest is the follow-up to cult-hit The Forest, released in 2018. As the lone survivor of a plane crash, you must battle creepy cannibals and starvation in order to stay alive in the mysterious titular forest.
