EA ‘overjoyed’ with early Star Wars Jedi: Survivor performance

Electronic Arts has said that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is off to a “very strong” start.

During the company’s fourth quarter earnings call on Tuesday, the company said the game has reached “millions” of players since it was released for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC on April 28.

“Within the first few weeks, millions of players have joined Cal Kestis and BD-1 in their rebellion against the Empire,” EA CEO Andrew Wilson said.

Later in the call, Wilson said: “On Jedi, we’re overjoyed. We made the bold decision to move the title six weeks to give the team the opportunity to really get to the quality of the game that they wanted”.

He added: “I think we’re building on where we were with Jedi: Fallen Order and it’s certainly been a very strong launch for us.

“It’s very early, I think we’re 11 days in at this point, we’re in a different kind of market dynamic, but I would tell you it’s pacing very strongly against our expectations and against Jedi: Fallen Order.”

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has scores of 86 (PS5), 85 (Xbox Series X/S) and 79 (PC) on review aggregation site Metacritic.

Despite a six-week delay for polishing, the sequel was released with a significant number of issues.

Prior to its release, EA said it was planning to address bugs and performance issues with a series of post-release patches, the latest of which hit consoles on Tuesday.

The director of Respawn’s Star Wars Jedi series, Stig Asmussen, has said he hopes to make a trilogy of games.

I could or cared less the game was amazing regardless and I only crashed a few times. I wasn't crying over frames or anything else
