EA exec: It is unlikely the next Xbox will play Xbox 360 games

An executive for Electronic Arts has recently claimed that we should not expect Xbox 360 games to run on the next-gen Xbox, nor should owners of the next Playstation expect to play PS3 games on the PS4.

Sources report that EA chief financial officer, Blake Jorgensen, said "An important thing to remember is that next-gen consoles will most likely not be backwards compatible… And if you play multiplayer on a game, you'll most likely not be able to play with someone on a different generation."

Exactly why I'm not going to get the 720 unless all my friends get it.. Then I may. Cause we'll have to pay more to play probably and Wth am I going to do with my 360 games? Selling them to Gamestop get's you like a dollar a game. I think I'll stick to the 360 as long as possible.

Well they make us pay for LIVE already, so im expecting them to come up with a "Card" of some sort to play online again, and maybe pay more sense its "Next Gen"

Feet I doubt it. What if you want to play the call of duty's? There not gunna make you switch systems to play it. (Or they will reformat old games for it, which would make us spend a ton).


It's MS, they'll make us pay a ton...

im pretty sure the people at microsoft an sony know a lot more then you do and know what people will buy. they would literally spend millions figuring this out, they wouldn't do this if they thought they were going to lose money.

It won't kill profit for either of them, it'll boost them because you have to buy new games.


But then people don't buy the system?


They will get more money as people have to buy new games and pre-owned games may be banned, but like you said less people will buy as they won't like what's happening with the games, so it could lower there profits. Like they need anymore money anyway.


Money hungry piggies tbh... sticking with my pc :)
