Next gen Xbox disk installation required

4.2
Earlier today, a few images of the "Microsoft Durango XDK Documentation Setup" leaked on the internet. This document is for licensed game developers only, and it reveals tons of unannounced information regarding the next-gen Xbox to the public. Much more has been added to the documentation since the last time it was leaked.

What really threw us off was the following:
"All games will be installed on the hard drive. Play from optical disc will not be supported."

What do you think? We'd say this is proof that they will include, at least, a 320GB hard drive in the base console at launch.

We also noticed that upon installation of the documentation, all of the tools and plugins needed for developers to create games are installed to Visual Studio 2012. Older versions of Visual Studio seem to have been abandoned.

It'll obviously allow external HDD's to be formatted just like the current gem xbox.

TopNotchKiNG Guys, a current-gen game on the Xbox 360 takes up 6-8GB. A BluRay disc is 50GB. 320GB will be gone very fast.

I think they should just allow people to add their own hard drives, I would just stick a 1TB hard drive in then never really have to worry about space.

I don't even think that 1TB would do the job - well, maybe in the short run, but not in the long run.

If custom capacity HDDs are available (or however they end up doing this) I'd get at least a 2TB HDD (they aren't very expensive).

This is bad, you're going to need alot of memory as said before me, why not keep it the same as it is now? it's been working perfectly...

Technology is evolving. I can see everything moving to the cloud soon so you don't even need to download the game you just pay for the game and play instantly.

I think what you all need to realize is that you can UNINSTALL the games you aren't playing at the time.

And besides, my laptop has a 500gb hard drive and I have about 50 steam games as well as a number of MMOs on there. 500gb will do you all just fine and I assume by the time this console comes out hard drive prices will have dropped from their already low prices.

well this sucks..

guess i need to buy a lot of extra HDD's just to play games from.
