Phil Spencer talks about sharing games with non Family Members

4.3
Microsoft's Phil Spencer interviewed with companies and talked about the game sharing on Xbox One. He stated that you can share games with people other than your family, but there are some twists in it. Microsoft previously released that only ten family members can have access to your game library. None of them have to be from your real life family though.

Spencer states that he does believe people will create family groups with people that aren't associated with their family at all. He believes this does ease some of the tension people had with the game sharing, but it has not put out the flames yet.

Finder I believe one of the twists is that only one person can be playing a game at a time from a "family"

Thats already been announced so it is one of the twists

No its been confirmed that only everyone may be on at one time in that group but only 1 person per game unless they purchased the game themselves.

This is now starting to clear up and actually making the Xbox One look better!

Flawn77 So basically you can share any game you buy with the 10 selected people no matter where they live. That's pretty interesting. However, I read that only one person can play at a time so, what do you do if they are playing your game when you want to play it? Kick them off?

Hopefully it will have some sort of king system, so if the person who bought it wants to play it, they can do so whenever they want and probably boot the other person (Or give them a 10 minute time limit or something) This is a good system because then I can add my friends to the "Family" and they can share my games, and vice versa!

Actually corrected.... only 2 people can play at a time on the same game and in my opinion when you share a game as a disc, you as the owner never have access to it until you get it back so that fact that 2 people can play the same game at the same time bought by one person in opinion is badass!

slapshot101 So there are groups of 10 people who all buy different games and you can all play them at the same time? That would be very cool but I am pretty sure this is not the case.

It's set up in a way that it's like giving them the game disc without giving them the game disc. So only one person can play it at a time.

"Give your family access to your entire games library anytime, anywhere: Xbox One will enable new forms of access for families. Up to ten members of your family can log in and play from your shared games library on any Xbox One. Just like today, a family member can play your copy of Forza Motorsport at a friends house. Only now, they will see not just Forza, but all of your shared games. You can always play your games, and any one of your family members can be playing from your shared library at a given time."
