Sonic still unconfirmed for Super Smash Bros 4

Sega and Nintendo have not been talking about Sonic returning in the upcoming Super Smash Bros game for 3DS/Wii U. What seems like an obvious choice to many hasn't been discussed by the two companies yet.

Takashi Iizuka from Sonic's team said this about the hedgehog joining the Super Smash Bros roster as a third party character in the upcoming game.

"All we can say is that we also think it would be awesome if he was in the next Smash Bros. So yea, but that’s more of a question for Nintendo than us."

You would think Nintendo would have already contacted Sega about it. Perhaps they want to focus more on the first party Nintendo characters before working on 3rd party characters. The game is set to be released in 2014 so they still have time to discuss Sonics possible addition to the roster. Either Nintendo is really considering letting Sonic sit this one out or they’re going to wait to confirm his addition to the game.

Are you kidding? Super Smash Bros has always been a great seller on Nintendo. I don't know of a single person who would get Nintendo for a shooter. SSB will more and likely be Nintendo's biggest seller this year.

i dont think nintendo does dlc, think they just update it.

They have very rarely done DLC for any of their games, they did do one recently for Super Mario Bros, which was cool and it added new levels but I think it is good profit for Nintendo.

So true. I didn't like the idea of adding the Wii fit trainer though. It seemed weird to me


It's not that big of a deal to me, it's good to see them adding new characters instead of mostly re-used characters, don't get me wrong I would like to see some past characters like Mewtwo come back.


I know what you mean. I like to see nintendo actually innovating and bringing in new things. If they had the same characters in every game the game would eventually get boring
