Sonic still unconfirmed for Super Smash Bros 4

Sega and Nintendo have not been talking about Sonic returning in the upcoming Super Smash Bros game for 3DS/Wii U. What seems like an obvious choice to many hasn't been discussed by the two companies yet.

Takashi Iizuka from Sonic's team said this about the hedgehog joining the Super Smash Bros roster as a third party character in the upcoming game.

"All we can say is that we also think it would be awesome if he was in the next Smash Bros. So yea, but that’s more of a question for Nintendo than us."

You would think Nintendo would have already contacted Sega about it. Perhaps they want to focus more on the first party Nintendo characters before working on 3rd party characters. The game is set to be released in 2014 so they still have time to discuss Sonics possible addition to the roster. Either Nintendo is really considering letting Sonic sit this one out or they’re going to wait to confirm his addition to the game.

MW2-Rush I don't have a 3DS/WII U, yet, but when I do, I am gonna most likely get this game. And, hopefully Sonic will be in there!


I'm getting the Wii U for this game alone. When I saw that they announced this game at E3 I made the decision to buy a Wii U once this game is released.

Hmm that would actually be a pretty good idea. Has Nintendo every done a DLC before?

Gossip Sonic would be a good add. Mario and Sonic already have a bunch of games out together why not make another one.


They need to add Sonic back in. I like that they added Sonic in SSBB, was definitely something I didn't expect when playing through the campaign.

So true. I didn't like the idea of adding the Wii fit trainer though. It seemed weird to me


It's not that big of a deal to me, it's good to see them adding new characters instead of mostly re-used characters, don't get me wrong I would like to see some past characters like Mewtwo come back.
