Sonic still unconfirmed for Super Smash Bros 4

Sega and Nintendo have not been talking about Sonic returning in the upcoming Super Smash Bros game for 3DS/Wii U. What seems like an obvious choice to many hasn't been discussed by the two companies yet.

Takashi Iizuka from Sonic's team said this about the hedgehog joining the Super Smash Bros roster as a third party character in the upcoming game.

"All we can say is that we also think it would be awesome if he was in the next Smash Bros. So yea, but that’s more of a question for Nintendo than us."

You would think Nintendo would have already contacted Sega about it. Perhaps they want to focus more on the first party Nintendo characters before working on 3rd party characters. The game is set to be released in 2014 so they still have time to discuss Sonics possible addition to the roster. Either Nintendo is really considering letting Sonic sit this one out or they’re going to wait to confirm his addition to the game.

Wouldn't annoy me too much if sonic was not included. Hopefully this game turns out well

There's always space for Sonic xD II'm hoping they add around 60 characters or something like that.

That's what I thought! Sonic is the main character though :) So it's more likely that Sonic will be in there.


Jigglypuff isn't a main character but she's in there as well xD Or at least in every other SSB game.


Oh well, we'll see :)


Plus Shadow is just way better in my opinion ;D
