Sony Confirms PlayStation 4 Does Not Have a Power Brick

4.6
Shuhei Yoshida, Sony President of Worldwide Studios, has confirmed via Twitter that the PlayStation 4 will not use a power brick. Instead, the power supply will be housed internally, not unlike the Xbox One.

Additional details regarding the PlayStation 4's power supply and how the company managed to fit it within the console's relatively small casing are still unknown, but at least we have a better idea of what Sony has in store for us later this year.

-TimeForRecovery- Finally! I always hated that thing....

It really got on my nerves as well. It made it hard to move the console around and got tangled up in other wires behind my TV. I am personally glad that it's gone

Was the PS3 power brick different from the Xbox 360's? I never had the Xbox 360 power brick tangle up on me but I have had it get in the way where it took up more room than I would have liked it to. I keep the power brick on top of my 360 to save a little space.

I'm pretty sure the PS3 had an internal power supply unlike the Xbox 360 which had an external.

RaheemSterling_31 seems a very weird shape PS4

I personally like the shape. It seems like it's small and elegant which is pretty cool

Jakeston PS4 just keep giving me reasons to switch. Haha. I love this feature so much! Although, a cooling system of some sort better be implemented. I'm afraid it will overheat.

Remember that the PS3 had an internal power supply also. I think that Sony would have figured the cooling thing out already

This is a great thing to add! But I agree with Jakeston, a cooling system will be needed; too much in a confined space like that will cause overheating quite a lot:/
