Club Nintendo Japan hacked

Japan's Club Nintendo service was hacked following thousands of unauthorized accesses across the last month. Nintendo announced that an internal investigation confirmed just under 24,000 illegitimate logins between June 9 and July 4, from over 15 million attempts.

As translated by Kotaku, Nintendo said customer information compromised in the attack includes full names, phone numbers, and home and email addresses. Happily, the service doesn't hold credit card information. Kotaku notes the attack is apparently limited to Japan's Club Nintendo, and other countries don't seem to be affected.

Unsurprisingly, Nintendo is strengthening Club Nintendo's security as a result, starting off with making users' old passwords invalid and requiring them to make new ones.

They are far from done. Nintendo has an established fan base and the 3DS is selling pretty well at the moment. People are also still buying their last generation consoles. Being the Nintendo Wii and the Nintendo DS

Gamecube was the best!
So many people hacking gaming companies now.


The GameCube was an excellent console for it's time. Most of Nintendo's releases up to the Wii U have been pretty solid.

Zuki Nintendo has had its day anyway.


the only good consoles Nintendo created was the Wii and the DS.


GameCube, SNES, N64? Can't forget those. Nintendo Gameboy wasn't that bad either, I know they made the DS to replace that but still the Gameboy was pretty good in it's time before the first DS.


I think that the gamebody is still a great console. I still pull out my GameCube once in a while to play also, some of my favorite games are on that console. Nintendo has defiantly created many good consoles outside of the Wii and DS


The gamecube is a pretty good console. Super Smash Bros Melee :)


I played that game so much on the GameCube, that and Paper Mario: TTYD, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle and Mario Kart: Double Dash.

I got bored with that after beating it. The only problem I had with that game is collecting the red coins on the flying sand bird level .-. Never in my life have I thought a Mario level could be so hard xD
