Crytek takes websites down for 'suspicious activity'

4.6
Crytek (Crysis, Ryse: Son of Rome) has temporarily shut down four of its sites due to "suspicious activity" and will require users to change their passwords once the sites are restored, an email sent to Crytek account holders stated today.

The developer "acted quickly to take those websites offline for security reasons" notes an email sent to registered users of those sites, as reported by VG24/7.

Crytek.com, mycryengine.com, crydev.net, and mycrysis.com were all taken offline in response to the activity.

Ranzee A few big named sites have been getting hacked recently

Fair play to them for spotting something and preventing them what could have been a bit of trouble.

Agreed, smart move on their part.

Borify The people are lucky the company caught it in time otherwise their accounts would probably be toast.

Yes but people still complained because it was shut down for just a little while.

And that's ironic.

But anyways, at least they caught it in time and are having everyone change their passwords. That timing probably saved a lot of people's accounts, that is if someone was trying to obtain that information.

ShadowBoltDashie Websites have seemed to have been getting tampered with recently. One of Nintendo's websites got hacked, Blizzard had a security warning and I think another site that is used constantly by gamers was tampered or threatened.

It seems to be happening a fair lot lately.. It's not great to see so many websites being hacked
