Crytek takes websites down for 'suspicious activity'

Crytek (Crysis, Ryse: Son of Rome) has temporarily shut down four of its sites due to "suspicious activity" and will require users to change their passwords once the sites are restored, an email sent to Crytek account holders stated today.

The developer "acted quickly to take those websites offline for security reasons" notes an email sent to registered users of those sites, as reported by VG24/7.

Crytek.com, mycryengine.com, crydev.net, and mycrysis.com were all taken offline in response to the activity.

Tac-45 I guess its fine because they rather shut down a site for a couple of days until its resolved than let a bunch of people get hacked.

Anonymous would have no reason to target them. And most people who actually hack websites to steal infomation won't affiliate with Anonymous.

Game developers websites seem to be targeted more and more now, hopefully they don't store any credit card details.

If it really was anonymous crytek probably wouldn't have noticed it. and wouldn't have had time to shut it down.

Retrosaur It's Crytek for god sake! If anything, take down some small indie dev.


It shows no skill in hacking though.
