Battlefield won't give up until it's 'number one'

Ahead of the game's October 29 launch, EA Games executive VP Patrick Soderlund recently talked up Battlefield 4, discussing the series' competition with Activision's Call of Duty.

"Competition is good. It brings the best out of people. If there was only Battlefield or only Call of Duty, then the development teams might have been a little bit more content," Soderlund told MCV. He added that the developer doesn't mimic Activision's efforts on the Call of Duty series.

"Maybe they weren't thinking about us much when we made Battlefield 3, but I can tell you, they are thinking about us now. They need to," Soderlund said. "We made a dent in the FPS market and we took share from them. And I am not going to give up until I'm No.1 and I am going to make sure I'm No.1."

I think they have a good chance of becoming #1 to be honest.


It will be close this year for this type of game between COD and Battlefield if it does get to number 1 then good on them if not it does not surprise me as the sheep followed the COD series.

yeah, but most people are "sheep" to the CoD brand so it will always be the top game


Either way these "Sheep" will buy any game that they hear from their friends is good or see that is good I hope Battlefield takes the number one spot I really do. It is long overdue but I can't see it happening.

WWF Battlefield will always be Number one in my opinion. Call of Duty is the same thing every year, but they get the brainwashed 8 year olds to buy their games every year. Battlefield tries every year to make it better than it already is. I think the skyscraper map will become the most amazing thing to ever happen in Video game history.


I guess GTA 5 is full of brainwashed 8 year olds too right? No one cares if CoD is the same thing every year, it's fun. Pokemon is the same thing, you go around, catch pokemon, beat gyms, then beat the elite 4. But it's a fun. Just like CoD is fun.


You don;'t run into 8 year olds online.


Because online isn't out yet? GTA 4 was full of kids, and you were born in 1998, so you're one of those kids people refer too.
