GTA Online will reportedly support 32 players, not 16

A new report claims that Grand Theft Auto Online's player count may have been increased from the previously confirmed 16 to 32.

While a Rockstar representative declined to comment on the matter when contacted by CVG this morning, Cinema Blend claims to have obtained the information ahead of GTA Online's October 1 launch by scouring through the network configuration settings for the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto 5.

According to the report, GTA Online will feature a "Freemode" supporting 1-32 players. Up to 32 players will also be supported across Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Races, and Cops and Crooks modes, the site claims.

I THINK THERE IS GOING TO BE 32. I MEAN WHY NOT THIS IS THE game of the Year.

I think they should have a option for both sizes considering with 16 players it would be a lot more peaceful and with 32 I think there would be a lot more action.

If they added a option for going into different sized lobbies I think that would be amazing.

How do you know 16 players wouldn't be fun? You don't.


Trust me, 16 players in a single map in gta isn't gonna be that awesome considering how big the map is but with 32 i could imagine how fun that would be.


I agree I don't think 16 will be enough for the size of the map I would be happy with 32 players.

32 players? Yes please be true. Its a big map so it would be great to have that many playing in a lobby. Think of the fun that can be had and it can be 16 vs 16 crew battles.
