PlayStation 4 App details and user interface shots posted

Sony has released more details on its PlayStation App which was shown off during TGS 2013 last month during Sony Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida’s ketnote.

The app, which launches alongside PS4 later this year will allow users to “take the PlayStation experience with them” wherever they go.

It allows users to stay in touch with friends, compare trophies, view friends’ activity including recorded or live-streamed gameplay on PS4 and access the PlayStation Blog.

“It’s an application that anyone can download for free on iOS and Android devices,” Yoshida told the PS Blog. “There are a variety of things you can do with it. You can connect to your PlayStation profile, and send messages – even voice messages – to friends between your smartphone and PS4.

“A friend on PS4 can also send out an invitation for a multiplayer game, which you can then check on the App, and you can also purchase PS4 games from PlayStation Store. Your game will immediately start downloading while you’re away.”

The app also offers “second screen gameplay features” on enabled titles such as The Playroom, which comes installed on PS4.

“There are many big publishers creating their own apps for their games, like Watch Dogs or Battlefield, and that’s great,” Yoshida added. “But smaller developers can use PlayStation App to connect to PS4 and load an application, like drawing software for example, so that you don’t have to download and install a specific app on your smartphone.

“It’s open to all PS4 developers to use.”

Dr-Ponyfile Had to break the pyramid here lol. I was browsing the Internet and come across some more of the interface shots and it does look like a step up from the PS3 I am just hoping that Playstation Home is still there on the PS4 as a friend of mine loves playing that.

The pyramids are the best! And yeah it does look sick.

No but I pre-ordered all the games so I can stare at them lmao.
I should be able to get the ps4 within 1 week of launch because they said they will restock.

I would consider swapping watchdogs and ac4 because there is quite a lot of exclusive content for the ps4 versions of those games

Bungie is making it sound like their will A LOT exclusive content for the ps4 version of Destiny because their relationship with Microsoft so I would consider adding that. If you do pre order gamestop will send you a code so you can enter it to sign up for the beta. I got mine yesterday

Yeah, I might If I had some sony friends. Most of my friends that will play destiny will be on xbox. and I think I'll swap AC. But i'm keeping watch dogs xbox for achievement reasons

Makes sense, all of my xbox friends are swapping so it made it very easy for me haha
