Sony won't ban PS4 consoles that arrive early to customers

Microsoft made headlines this weekend when it would not allow the few people who got Xbox One consoles sent to them ahead of its November 22nd launch date to use the product online. Microsoft executive Albert Penello later said the temporary bans on these consoles was due to the fact that the company is still trying to stomp out the final bugs in the Xbox One before the launch.

But what if, for some reason, someone gets a PS4 ahead of the U.S. launch date of November 15th, or the European launch scheduled for November 29th? Sony's President of Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, indicated in a Twitter post this weekend that the company won't ban any PS4 consoles that arrive to customers ahead of their launch dates.

Sony has already sent a PS4 to YouTube celebrity "Francis" to try out and the video seemed to indicate he was able to play games on the console. Sony has already announced that there will be a "day one" 300 MB software update for the console that will enable many of its features, including its ability to play Blu-ray movie discs.

You know who's a fanboy in the comment section here. Everyone who is bitching about this saying they're "unprofessional" and other horse shit like that are all MS fanboys. Who cares if they do this? It's there console and they can do this if they want. MS just needs to shut there mouth so Sony can't capitalize on there faults. Besides, what do you care if someone gets their console early due to "shipping error." It doesn't effect you in any way.

I doubt that many people will be getting consoles early. I would love to get a PS4 now though

Sony isn't doing this PSA for you MS fanboys as an attempt to get you to convert, it's a PSA saying "hey we don't care that you got it early, enjoy!" If Sony wanted to bash MS, there are waaaay better reasons. BTW, you mention E3 as though Sony is a bad group for making jokes at microsofts expense, just an FYI moment, Sony gave free PS4s to all handicapped people at the GAME Expo in Australia because the building the expo was held in didn't have a way to get people up several flights of stairs. Microsoft on the other hand just dismissed each handicapped person with an apology statement.


Didn't MS say that his console will be unbanned? Oh wait they did PS fanboy. I like both and will be getting both but he did break the code of conduct by releasing info before the release. They banned him because the product isn't completed yet. Please learn more facts before you assume things.

How is it ridiculous? I think it is quite a smart move. Tell you what is pathetic and quite sad is the "XB1 FTWWWWW" at the end of your post. Just goes to show how immature Xbox gamers really are. I think you will find the mature company is Sony it also has the more mature gaming community. Enough said!

I'm not surprised Sony did this. Sony has done this many times such as when Xbox announced DRM and got bad feedback so Sony acted like they weren't going to do the same thing but actually were going to until they saw the bad responses so they acted like they were "for the gamers" when really they were gonna do the same shit. Also I don know why people think its stupid that people who got the Xbox one early can't play until release. Sure they didn't break any rules to get the console early but obviously Xbox is still fixing some bugs and don't want to release their console to the public until they feel it's ready. And it's not like they're punishing them. They get to play the same day as everyone else so they're not getting punished at all. Also if they let people go online and play, then it's likely people will give away secrets about the console like one person has already done! Anyways both consoles will rock which is why I'm getting both but I feel what Sony has done is immature. Just hope Sony has stricter rules like the Xbox 360 had so that I don't lose my account and information to some hacker like I did on my ps3
