Nintendo says it improves system stability and enhances the user experience

Nintendo has released Wii U system update 4.0.2.

The company says the update makes "further improvements to overall system stability" while "other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience".

An upcoming 3DS firmware update will allow customers to tie their accounts with the Wii U, meaning that digital currency can be deposited and spent through either system.

Due in December, the software update will allow 3DS users to sign into their Nintendo Network ID via the handheld. If users already have an active Nintendo Network ID on their Wii U, these will combine together.

The update will also bring another long-awaited feature to 3DS in the form of Miiverse. Users will be able to post comments and sketches via their 3DS, with the messages appearing on both handheld and home consoles.

Since Wii U's release in November 2012, dedicated fans have urged Nintendo to fuse the console's online network with the 3DS, much in the way Sony has with PS3 and Vita.

Frog It's a shame how unpopular this console has been, I love Nintendo for the childhood they gave me but they really need to start creating content people actually want in Europe and America...

The Wii U actually has a fair bit of potential for a console, people are simply not adopting it though due to it being overshadowed by the PS4, Xbox One and PC. Being fair though the only reason that somebody will buy a Wii U is because of Nintendos exclusive games which stand out among its competitors

Nintendo used to always use that line when they blocking exploits on the Wii.

I guess this probably is what this update does on the WiiU since the whole wii side of the console's already been cracked wide open.

I love how people like you come specifically to the Nintendo section just to hate on there products. I'm not a super huge Nintendo fan but they deserved way more respect than any organization out there to date. They've been around since the beginning and they gave me a lot of childhood memories. Also until you actually use the Wii U, don't same its terrible because its actually a very innovative piece of hardware, same as the Xbox Kinect which seems to get so much hate even though its being used as actual medical technology and for simulators to train people. ZombiU is a great game, the new Smash Bros will be a great game as well.


I agree with most of what you just said. I see the Wii U as more of a secondary console to be used along with either a PC or other console, yet that doesn't make it bad what so ever. While i don't think it's a great console myself people should actually try it out before blatantly stating that it's "awful"

Katsumi Now.. I was thinking about the Wii U and this is what i came up with. Nobody really buys the Wii U as their primary gaming platform, yet uses it as a secondary platform of sorts. For example, many PC gamers may buy a Wii U due to the Nintendo exclusives, yet play PC a lot more, moving to Wii U from time to time. The same applying with players of the Xbox One and PS4.


I sort of get where you're coming from, thinking about it; I agree with you.
