Next-gen versions reportedly listed on Bethesda's website, imminent announcement also teased

Bethesda may be planning to release The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on Xbox One and PS4

OnlySP captured a screenshot of Bethesda's Skyrim website showing next-gen versions of the game listed alongside the existing Xbox 360, PS3 and PC editions.

It's unclear if the listing, which has since been removed, was an error or an inadvertent early reveal, but we've contacted Bethesda for clarification.

Adding fuel to the fire, a number of European Reddit users have reported receiving an email from Bethesda teasing a "very special announcement" this Sunday, January 12.

Skyrim launched in November 2011 and went on to win multiple Game of the Year awards. In June 2013, Bethesda released The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Legendary Edition. The product features the main game as well as DLC packs Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn.

Two months prior to the release of Legendary Edition, Bethesda said the Skyrim development had moved on to its next project after more than 16 months of post-release support for the title.

Oh my, they would be amazing. I played Skyrim on PC at Ultra settings and it looked spectacular.


Then im sure for you playing Skyrim on Xbox one at 720p would feel like an arcade version compared to playing it on pc on ultra! :p why would Bethesda bother re-releasing it on xbox one? Thats just copying and pasting for money if you ask me

I was looking forward to seeing the graphics for skyrim on Next gen, I guess that isn't happening.

Ahh well, TTG should definitely not trust these announcements that are out of the blue next time. :/

Cyimking I hope that the special announcement is for Fallout instead of Skryim. Yes Skryim is a good game and it will be much better on the next gen... but unless they make a whole new story line with new features, guns , etc... then it's a waste of money. I don't want to replay an old game.

Plus, with MS's new rules on modding, Bethesda should be able to finally incorporate PC mods onto this game, right?


mods are made by the players not the devs. that wouldn't work.


I meant swords, bows, etc... Also why would devs spend the time and money to remake a game with mods in it? Doesn't make any sense.
