Thief sneaks in 1080p for PS4 while Xbox One lags at 900p

Thief is due to be released on February 25th, it has came to light that the PS4 version will render at 1080p while it's Xbox One counterpart will only turn up at 900p.

The slight gap between resolutions was announced by the game's Publisher, Square Enix, in a recent chat with a leading gaming news venue. They go on to state the difference is so minute that you would *need* really good sight to spot the disparity. While he admits there is a difference albeit slight between the PS4 and Xbox One he goes on to tell gamers that the biggest jump in quality for Thief will be from the previous generation of consoles versus the latest and greatest from Sony and Microsoft.

Have you forgotten where you are? You're lurking in a CONSOLE news forum? I have a Xbox One and I can still say with confidence that most people who have the PS4 don't care that your PC is better. Do us all a favor and take your 'PC master race' some place where a damn is given, cuz here is certainly not that place.

The Xbox will be a bit fuzzier. I find this hilarious because both consoles are already so far behind compared to the PC. PC games are all going to be in 4K at 60 fps with a $200 graphics card in the next 3 years while the Xbox and PS4 will still be down at 1080p or even 900p. Its sort of sad.


Yeah if you **** sit 4 inches away from the screen smh, I seriously couldn't care less about 4K, I don't taking gaming serious enough for that.


Have you seen 4k yet? Sorry but I know a lot of people that have yet to even see it. If you say that there is no difference you need some glasses because anyone can see the difference. In about 3-5 years 4k is gonna be what HD is today and the is generation will be behind even longer.


I don't give a damn about 4K right now, what I'm saying is, if you put the two consoles side-by-side on the same monitor or whatever and sit in a normal gaming position (couple metres away) or even close, you wouldn't notice the difference. I did it in my flat with my roommate who has Black Flag on the PS4 and I noticed no difference. My point is that 900p, 790p, there is not a game breaking visual difference.


There is a difference. Just look at the UI when you lower the resolution it swells up and becomes fuzzy especially on a TV that is native at 1080p. You can see the difference from across an entire room.

With 4K you can be at a store like Walmart and be able to tell which TV is 4k from the other side of the store. Those TVs will be standard in just a few years and the consoles will look fuzzy when that happens.
