343 Says Halo: Master Chief Collection “Definitely” Not Coming To Xbox 360

One of the big announcements to be revealed during Microsoft’s E3 2014 press conference was Halo: The Master Chief Collection, a new package containing HD versions of the four mainline Halo games all coming to Xbox One in an epic, Master Chief-sized package.

Speaking in an interview, 343 Industries Head Bonnie Ross mentioned specifically on The Master Chief Collection‘s likelihood of appearing on other platforms/consoles that fans should only expect to see the new collection appear on Xbox One for the time being, such as Xbox 360 and PC. For Xbox 360, it became a matter of technical limitations, as Ross mentioned that “We do not have any plans to bring the game to Xbox 360 as the game size, enhanced features and technical specifications simply can’t support it.”

Likewise, Ross also noted that Halo and Halo 2 previously appeared on PC shortly after their initial release on Xbox, but didn’t say whether we can expect to see The Master Chief Collection on PC down the line, or other future Halo titles – for now, fans can expect to see Master Chief only being on Xbox One for the time being, it seems.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection releases for Xbox One on November 11th, 2014.

They're not, in another news article it said that they would continue to make Xbox 360 games for a while.

yes it will might outsell ps4 but probs not

I think this will help out a lot in the Xbox One's sales but I highly doubt they will outsell PS4 because of this.

I think people are forgetting that halo 4 on its own is the shadow of the colossus of the xbox 360. If just one halo of that graphical caliber pushed the 360 to the brink, then four on ONE disc would set on fire. In fact they would have to use like 4+ discs for the 360 AFTER they would have to butcher it. Hell battlefield 3 + 4, skyrim and cod ghosts are perfect examples of games that act next-gen on the pc or next-gen consoles but had to be toned down to the point of feeling like a different game to play on the 360 and ps3.

They promised to support the console for a long while. I doubt you'll see another big 1st party title on the 360 but it'll get most 3rd party titles (except CoD from now on). They aren't giving up on the 360 nor is Sony giving up on the ps3.

Tang I've never been a big halo fan but for people that do like halo, that's gotta suck...


It doesn't really suck because Xbox 360 already has most of the games. If anything it's good for Xbox One gamers because the Xbox One doesn't have that many games at this point.
