The Crew - Console beta and 360 version confirmed

Ubisoft has confirmed that an Xbox 360 version of The Crew is in development as well as the previously confirmed Xbox One, PS4 and PC versions.

The surprising announcement confirms that The Crew will not exclusively be a new-gen game, with external developer Asobo Studio (Fuel) working on the 360 version.

It's Ubisoft's objective to continue to meet the needs of consumers who have not yet made the move to the new console generation", said Geoffroy Sardin, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Ubisoft.

"The Crew was originally built for the new generation of consoles, but we have always had a desire to make it accessible to as many people as possible.


"We're excited to bring The Crew's same core features, massive scope, mission variety, and overall driving experience to Xbox 360 players."

Elsewhere, Ubisoft announced that following a successful closed beta for the PC version in July, a console beta is planned for the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game in late September with "a limited number of players" to be invited to take part.

The publisher previously confirmed that the PC beta will return on August 25.

Ubisoft has announced a The Crew release date of November 11 on all formats, including the newly-announced Xbox 360 version.

I didn't think they would make The Crew for the Xbox 360, I was assuming it would just be for the Xbox One, but it's good for 360 gamers that would wanna play this game. I think it looks okay so far but I don't think I'm going to be getting it once it's released.

Basically yeah. You have a crew with friends and then you pretty much race others to move up in the leader boards. It'll be a really good game when its released.
