Sony doesn’t understand why so many people are buying PS4s

Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida recently admitted he's a "bit nervous" about the success of the PlayStation 4. The console has sold 10 million units and the current generation is trending stronger than last. Will it run out of core customers?

"You need to understand why your products are selling well so you can plan for the future, right? It defied the conventional thinking," Yoshida recently told Eurogamer. "Lots of people thought the dedicated game hardware might not be needed going forward, but still lots of people are very excited."

The rightful concern Yoshida brings up is that Sony will exhaust the core customer. That the number of consumers interested in playing video games is a finite number that the company will rapidly reach with the new console. The good news for Sony is its initial market research is showing it's obtaining lots of new customers who didn't own a PS3, with some who didn't own any last-gen hardware.

Kixa Well for starters the PS4 is cheaper then the xbox one and a lot of games on the PS4 has better graphics then the one.


You can't even tell the difference unless you have a side by side comparison.


Speak for yourself, the difference is clearly there.


I own both consoles and I play on my 55 inch 1080p Tv and I can't notice a difference in graphics at all. Also why do people say its cheaper? You can get the xbox one without kinect for the same price...


Now it's cheaper.. the one was like 500 for 5-6 months

The dashboard isn't a jumbled, slow mess. Also the install times are pathetic on XB1, it's not my internet either I have 100/100. I do agree that overall though xbox has better exclusives. Halo is a must play.

I think Sony have made a console that attracts more to the customers than Microsoft did, but that doesn't mean they're better.


Also I've had instal times on both Xbox and Playstation that took a long time on google fiber connection. It's not just the xbox!

R3vo Probably because Xbox one sucks and no one wants to pay the extra 100 dollars plus 60 dollars a year for multiplayer when they can just get better performance with the ps4. I use to be all for xbox but the one was so bad that I sold it almost immediately, I am glad sony is selling well and hopefully they keep it up, if I had the money I would buy a ps4.


All the Xbox one is the same price now has 1tb consoles coming and the online membership costs money on ps4. PS plus costs money to play online on ps4. I have both there "Both" great ! XBOX one will have its lead soon I feel with a whole lot of limited editions and 1tb hard drives etc. GG man read up on your facts :)


with a playstation 4 you can install a new hdd yourself, im putting in a 1tb ssd soon,


You can also use any size HDD you want for the xbox one too. *External storage>*

The PS4 was a great console. And it was cheaper at launch. I just think it had as much if not more and better features than xbox one at launch.
