GTA 5 PC patch disables mods. Here’s how to get them working again

A new patch for the PC version of GTA 5 was released yesterday and, as it turns out, has wiped the ability to use mods with the game.

The wasn’t great news for some players, but YouTuber taltigolt has already figured out how to play the PC version with mods after installing the patch.

Matt detailed the patch notes yesterday which include fixing freezing and crashing bugs, and issues when launching the game in offline mode.

There are all sorts of mods available, from customising cars, to a zombie apocalypse, so fans will no doubt be happy about the workaround.

your right on that, nothing to do now except achivement hunt on consoles... or motorbike stunts... other than that, nothing at all really

I don't have PC, did they block the mods on ONLINE? Because that sounds good. Unfair to other players any game adjusting mods. Now if it was OFFLINE that was patched, thats bullshit. Because that is a major plus for having a PC over CONSOLE.

was gonna build a PC mostly for the mods for this game, but omg... whats actually the big deal about banning mods??? i get banning players for being invincible and money mods; they deserve bans but banning players for making a zombie apocalypse? changing the player models? basically anything nostalgic and fun is stupid.

i say let them use fun mods, at least in private matches and SP... but anything gamebreaking like invincibility; i say ban. fun mods should be allowed though...

Have no problem with people moding SP, but just don't mod MP, it really just ruins it for everybody.

Never in their ToS did they state that FOV mods were banable. That's why many people were banned without even knowing why.


Whats a FOV? Field of view right? Rockstar set the FOV not the user. The ToS does not allow mods. You sir must be an idiot if you think that in every ToS say each mod. Also FOV does provide an unfair advantage because it allows you to see more around you.


If i'm correct, Someone had talked to Rockstar support and they had said that FOV mods weren't bannable. I might be wrong and by the way, its not "glade" its "glad"


If I'm correct FOV mods are indeed banable. Why do you think people got banned? Also whoops I misspelled a word lmao big deal, no need to point out the obvious.... We all can read.....
