True, those powerupss are one of the reason the game was awesome.

Agreed! Those hovercarts look awesome haha, who knows if it'll be good/bad :D
They could easily be used to like cut shortcuts once people get the hang of everything.

I totally agree, they need to come up with something new, the Wii was something entirely new and it did amazing, but the Wii U which didn't very that much from the Wii didn't do good. They need a new series to really pump up their game.
I think they were just hoping for the best with the Wii U and put it out to see if they would get just that.
