Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson addressed recent rumors Friday that a Wii U version of the popular open-world sandbox game was in the works. While he did put the kibosh on the rumor, he did leave a glimmer of hope for owners of the Nintendo console.

"I am not aware of any plans to release a Wii U version of Minecraft," Persson stated on Twitter account.

"I agree a Wii U version would make sense, [by the way]," the Mojang co-founder continued. "The only reason for no current plans is we've got too much work already. I

Australians They gotta do this in time, It's fine being on the current systems.

I'm sure over time or if the Wii U starts to pick up in sales rather soon, Minecraft will be ported over to the Wii U.

Yeah

-Mark I think Minecraft could be missing out on some easy money but I am sure they have good reasoning behind their decision.

Yeah, but they have enough to work on with the other systems

It's still a pretty good console in my opinion. It's starting to pick up in sales and hopefully that trend will continue into the future

I think they're overpriced for what they are.

I have to agree with you on that one. For what the console is actually running i am surprised they are charging so highly for it, a price drop would definitely work in their favor

Cups but how much can you do with motion control
I just dont see a need for it

For people who are more used to motion control, like if they have only had Wii/Wii U, this would benefit them more instead of them trying to get used to a controller fully for this game. I would personally like to try out motion control to see how it is on Minecraft, I know it would take me a little bit to get comfortable with it since I have played Minecraft on my PC and Xbox 360.

I own a WiiU but I'm not too disappointed with this. I can play MC on my PC at anytime. There are a lot of kids on Nintendo network though, I could see a Minecraft port to the 3DS console being profitable.

Zoidberg I think Minecraft on the Wii would be a fun idea. Not gonna lie.

Definitely, motion control would be something different for Minecraft and then maybe the tablet could act as your map on the Wii U or even an overview camera of the terrain near you.
