Microsoft has announced that they intent to start providing refunds to those who are currently paid Xbox Live Gold subscribers and wish to revert to gold if they only use entertainment applications now not behind the golden paywall. Gamers who wish to cancel and get a refund have until August 31st 2014 to ask Microsoft for a return on their membership.

Once the Xbox One and Xbox 360 system updates become available in June, Xbox Live Gold members who purchased a paid membership before that day can cancel and receive a pro-rata refund of any unused remaining days between the date of cancellation and the date their paid Gold membership ends,” reads the updated FAQ.

Cancellation and pro-rata refund requests require six to eight weeks for processing. Free or trial Gold memberships are not eligible for a refund.Microsoft

The fact that you still have to pay for gold on the XBOX 360 is an outrage when we know the are preparing to close all servers for it and stop all servicing for it. Disgusted...the fee is supposed to be for maintenance and the use of the servers etc. (although game devs pay for those too..) so in the end we will be paying your for the sake of it...

Since when did Microsoft give out Pacman as a free game? On the Xbox One, they will distribute nearly new games because the console recently came out.

Looks like I'm getting a refund. I barely use my XB1 and 360 but when I do it's for Netflix.

There is a few games, I personally love Forza 5 because the same model Toyota supra I own is in the game xD so I like driving in that all the time :P
