Sony doesn’t understand why so many people are buying PS4s

Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida recently admitted he's a "bit nervous" about the success of the PlayStation 4. The console has sold 10 million units and the current generation is trending stronger than last. Will it run out of core customers?

"You need to understand why your products are selling well so you can plan for the future, right? It defied the conventional thinking," Yoshida recently told Eurogamer. "Lots of people thought the dedicated game hardware might not be needed going forward, but still lots of people are very excited."

The rightful concern Yoshida brings up is that Sony will exhaust the core customer. That the number of consumers interested in playing video games is a finite number that the company will rapidly reach with the new console. The good news for Sony is its initial market research is showing it's obtaining lots of new customers who didn't own a PS3, with some who didn't own any last-gen hardware.

How? I actually really enjoyed Halo 4 and cannot wait for 5!


I agree there is no difference in graphics and even if ps4 had a little better graphics who gives a **** if I wanted the best **** I would have bought a pc. secondly this is how I feel when you buy a ps4 your just getting a watered down xbox they copied so much from Microsoft. oh xbox has achievements lets creat tropies. oh xbox has a camera lets make one for playstation. oh xbox has games for gold lets make playstation plus all rip offs


I'll think you'll find Playstation + was around before Games for Gold. Ever heard of the Playstation Eye?? You sound like the fan boy. There both over priced under powered consoles. There already several generations behind PC and no, I don't game on PC.

Probably because of the pricing.
Will be getting an Xbone myself, mainly for its exclusives.

First off, I'm no fanboy of either console as I own and love both, but unfortunately Microsoft really messed up. They hit it huge with 360 and they not only got ahead of themselves with the One, but if they hadn't confused the audience so hard at the unveiling they would've sold equal to Sony if not more.

I think the sales are so much better than the Xbox One because their pre-release and initial release went so much better than that of the Xbox One. The price is probably what got most of the people since that is one of the biggest factors when it comes to purchasing something.

The PS4 is also a bit more powerful in term of raw specs too. Both are still great consoles.

Kixa Well for starters the PS4 is cheaper then the xbox one and a lot of games on the PS4 has better graphics then the one.


You can't even tell the difference unless you have a side by side comparison.


Speak for yourself, the difference is clearly there.


I own both consoles and I play on my 55 inch 1080p Tv and I can't notice a difference in graphics at all. Also why do people say its cheaper? You can get the xbox one without kinect for the same price...


Now it's cheaper.. the one was like 500 for 5-6 months


It was more expensive, but Kixa said that the Ps4 IS cheaper. And it IS NOT


I'm sure he was just referring to the kinect bundle
