No single-player campaign mode for Black Ops 3 on PS3 and Xbox 360

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will only have multiplayer and zombie mode on PS3 and Xbox 360.

The announcement popped up on the Call of Duty community blog, and states that, “The ambitious scope of the 1-4 player coop Campaign design of the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions could not be faithfully recreated on old generation hardware.”

So if you pick up Black Ops 3 on PS3 or Xbox 360, you’ll only be able to play the multiplayer mode and the zombies mode.

The last gen versions will also be lacking in “features built to leverage the next generation hardware like the new Weapon Paint Shop and the new suite of eSports tools [which] will only be available on Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.”

With that in mind, the RRP for the game on older platforms is $49.99 and will include a “bonus download for the original Call of Duty: Black Ops (bonus download availability may vary by region)”.

I don’t know that many CoD players care that much about the campaign, so is the absence of it something that they’ll be upset about? Should we all have switched over to this gen already anyway, almost two years into this console cycle? Let us know what you think about this move in the comments below.

Yes, I completely agree. It's been 2 years since the new consoles came out. Regardless, Xbox 360 & PS3 have been out since the mid-2000s and they are outdated systems. No need for them to complain about anything.

Call of duty is nearly dead the missing campaign is going to throw a good amount of gamers away from purchasing this game because not everyone enjoys the CoD multiplayer but play for the storyline

The campaign is easily half the game's value, MP usually gets boring after 30 hours of repetitive grinding anyways. The game should cost $25-$30, anything more and that's an insult. If I wanted a FPS solely for multiplayer I would play CSGO, because CSGO's reward isn't grinding its enjoyment.
