Nintendo now selling 'high-capacity' Wii U GamePad battery

4.6
The Wii U GamePad's wireless nature is kind of a figure of speech, what with how often its out-of-the-box battery life requires a charge. Nintendo's high-capacity GamePad battery has jumped shores to offer a solution to the annoyance, as long as you're willing to pay $32 for it.

The product listing states the new battery pack "offers up to 8 hours of use," which it compares to the existing GamePad battery's "3-5 hours." Users will need just a screwdriver to install it before they get back to hosting parties with Super Mario 3D World and discovering nightmare-worthy creatures in Pikmin 3.

Ice-Coolz yep this is good idea as hand held devices run out to fast.

They do, which deems them pointless in my mind.

Like a 100% battery charge on a iPod runs out in 3 hours which is not useful when you have a tethered jailbreak.

All handheld devices should have extra battery packs.

Scizor No matter how much people say the WiiU sucks, I will have to disagree.
I don't mind paying the premium if it means I can play my copy of Zelda for that much longer.

I haven't gotten to play the Wii U yet, but I do know what you mean with people saying the Wii U sucks. I personally have enjoyed Nintendo games, but after the Wii, I moved away from Nintendo games for the most part while returning to them now and then to play. I would like to try the Wii U out, but I actually will more and likely end up buying it either ways for the new Super Smash Bros that's coming out.

Sexxi This just sells because low prices

Well not really, there are still people who are huge fans of Nintendo, so they will support their consoles and enjoy playing them.

Guess this is helpful for some, personally though, I wouldn't buy one.

jxremiah anyone who says "quit trying" or "why try" or "nintendos failing" is ignorant and STUPID. The Wii U is outselling the X1 and PS4, idiots.

ps I have an X1 / X360, no Wii U.

I have to agree with that. I don't think Nintendo is failing or should give up, just have been having a rough time. A lot of people have moved over from Nintendo to the Xbox, PlayStation or PC. Not Nintendo's fault at all. However, I will say I still feel the Wii U was just rushed out, but turns out it's apparently doing better than it was before.

Zinx This is a very smart thing to do!

It really is a good idea seeming that the Wii U gamepads tend to suck up battery pretty fast
