Nintendo now selling 'high-capacity' Wii U GamePad battery

4.6
The Wii U GamePad's wireless nature is kind of a figure of speech, what with how often its out-of-the-box battery life requires a charge. Nintendo's high-capacity GamePad battery has jumped shores to offer a solution to the annoyance, as long as you're willing to pay $32 for it.

The product listing states the new battery pack "offers up to 8 hours of use," which it compares to the existing GamePad battery's "3-5 hours." Users will need just a screwdriver to install it before they get back to hosting parties with Super Mario 3D World and discovering nightmare-worthy creatures in Pikmin 3.

This is a very smart thing to do!

I think that is really good thing to do!

Brigand It doesn't seem expensive, why don't they do this for other products out there?

Not too sure honestly, it would much benefit a product such as the Xbox 360

anyone who says "quit trying" or "why try" or "nintendos failing" is ignorant and STUPID. The Wii U is outselling the X1 and PS4, idiots.

ps I have an X1 / X360, no Wii U.

i dont wander to far from the charging cable i usually play it on a high definition tv so even at that i rarely run out of battery let alone let it die.

Stex Great way to make themselves more money and make gamers battery life last longer, simple and clean idea!

It really comes down to how much it will actually sell though, i personally don't think that it will sell very well

I think the wii u is really cool, but it was like that with the last wii, all the other new consoles came out.

I also think the Wii U is a generally cool console. It is the only one that has really innovated this generation, straying away from its predecessor. That alone scores big points in my books

daRealRush I hope this helps Nintendo out, but I don't understand why they are still trying with the Wii U.

I guess they still think it will be able to sell some units in the long run. I'm interested to see how long they support it for.
